This site is operated by Bazi, a sole-proprietor service ("we", "us"). You can reach us through the message button on our product page.
We are not a law firm, a medical practice, a licensed financial adviser, or a veterinary service. Section 3 explains what that means for you in practice.
02What this service is
The service calculates a Chinese Four Pillars chart (Bazi / 八字) from the date, time and place of birth you provide, and then produces a written reading based on that chart.
The chart is arithmetic. The reading is interpretation. The four pillars, the hidden stems, the ten gods, the luck cycles and the annual pillars are derived from published calendrical rules and can be checked by anyone with the same inputs. The written interpretation is produced by a large language model following rules we set, and it is an opinion, not a measurement.
We do not promise that anything in a reading will happen. We do not promise that a reading is accurate about you, your life, your relationships, your money, or your animal. No outcome, timeline, window, or recommendation in a reading is a guarantee, and none of it should be relied on as the sole basis for a decision.
This service is offered for entertainment, curiosity and self-reflection. If you need a decision made about your health, your money, your legal position or your animal's health, consult a qualified professional in that field.
03Not professional advice
Nothing on this site is medical, psychological, legal, tax, accounting, immigration, employment, veterinary or investment advice, and nothing on this site creates a professional relationship of any kind.
- Health. Do not delay, skip, or change treatment because of a reading. If you think you may be unwell, see a doctor.
- Money. We do not recommend specific securities, trades, products or allocations. Do not make an investment decision on the basis of a reading.
- Animals. Readings for animals describe temperament, environment and timing only. They never address health, symptoms, medication, diagnosis or lifespan. If your animal is unwell, contact a veterinarian. This is a hard limit of the product, not a preference.
- Legal. Nothing here is a legal opinion, including anything about contracts, employment, visas or disputes.
04Who may use it
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a reading. If you are under 18 you may not purchase. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
You may use the free chart without paying and without giving us your real name.
05No account, nothing to remember
There are no accounts and no passwords, and no key to copy down. What unlocks a reading is the reading's own subject: the birth date, the hour, the place, and the question you ask. Send the same details and the site returns the same reading.
- Keep your birth details and your question consistent. Change either and it becomes a different reading.
- Do not resell readings generated for other people as a service.
- We may rate-limit requests that look automated or abusive, or that are used to bypass the medical limits in section 9.
06Orders, payment and who sells to you
Payments are processed by Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record for every purchase. That means Gumroad is the seller of record, handles your card, handles sales tax and VAT, issues the receipt, and processes refunds. Gumroad's own terms and privacy policy also apply to your purchase; where they conflict with these terms on the subject of payment, Gumroad's terms control that subject.
Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay. The price shown at checkout is the price that applies. We may change prices at any time; a change does not affect a purchase already made.
If a payment fails, is reversed, or is refunded, that purchase no longer covers new readings. Readings already delivered remain yours.
07Delivery
After payment you are returned to this site with the email address you paid with. That is enough for the site to match the payment to the reading you asked for. Generation usually takes under a minute but can take longer; if our upstream model provider is slow or unavailable, we may retry, and you may need to press Generate again.
Every generated reading is stored against the exact birth details and question it was made for, so the same details bring it back later. If you delete your data (section 8 of the Privacy Policy), it is gone permanently.
By purchasing, you request immediate delivery of digital content and acknowledge that the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply once the reading has been generated. The Refund Policy is wider than that statutory rule and applies in addition to it.
If a paid reading cannot be generated at all, tell us through the message button on our product page, with the email address you paid with, and we will either regenerate it or refund it. That is a refund for non-delivery, not a judgement on the content.
08AI-generated content
Readings are written by a large language model. You are interacting with generated text, not with a human practitioner. We label it as such, and we do not present it as human-written.
Generated text can be wrong in ways that look confident. It can misread a chart, use a term loosely, or produce a sentence that does not follow from the data. We validate the output against the chart automatically before showing it to you, but validation catches structural errors, not bad judgement. If something in a reading is plainly inconsistent with the chart shown on your screen, tell us; that is a defect we want to know about.
We keep the chart data and the reading. We do not send your name or email address to the model provider. See the Privacy Policy.
09Acceptable use
Do not:
- submit another living person's birth data, or an animal's data, without their consent — or, for an animal, without being its owner or responsible for it;
- use the service to harass, threaten, stalk, or make decisions about anyone's employment, housing, credit, insurance, immigration status, or medical care;
- scrape, crawl, or automate requests, or attempt to obtain readings without paying;
- reverse-engineer, resell, or wrap the service as your own product;
- attempt to get around the limits in section 3, including by rephrasing a request about an animal's health.
We may refuse service, or end access, for any of the above. If we end access for abuse, we will not refund it.
10Your content and ours
Yours: the birth data and questions you submit stay yours. You grant us permission to process them for the sole purpose of producing and storing your reading, and to send the chart data (never your name or email) to a model provider for that purpose. We claim no other rights.
Ours: the site, its design, its text, its prompts, and its code belong to us. The underlying calendrical methods are thousands of years old and belong to nobody; we claim no exclusivity over the rules of Bazi, only over this implementation and this wording.
You may print, save, or share your own reading for personal use, and you may quote short passages from it publicly. You may not republish a reading in full as your own content, or resell readings generated for other people.
11Availability and changes
The service is provided as-is and as-available. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, including a product tier, at any time. If we discontinue a tier, purchases already made for that tier keep working for the readings already generated, and we will give reasonable notice on the site before removing access to stored readings.
The free chart may change as the calculation library is updated. A chart you saved earlier may differ in a detail from a chart calculated today, for example around a solar-term boundary. We date and version our calculations for this reason.
12Disclaimers and limit of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, opportunity, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the service or your reliance on a reading.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the reading that gave rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, Australia, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those protections apply in addition to these terms and nothing here removes them.
13Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts of that country, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country of residence.
Before filing anything, write to us through the message button on our product page. Most problems are a refund or a regeneration, and both are faster than a dispute.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will note it on the site before it takes effect. A purchase is governed by the terms in force on the date of that purchase.
